Friday Finds: Aubree Cherie’s Top Ten

by Maggie on June 18, 2010

Did you miss me last Friday?

I’m already in summer mode and we’ve been spending more time outside and less time inside, near the computer!  That’s a good thing don’t you think?

But I am back this week and today I want to share Aubree with you. She’s another one of my gluten-free blogging friends.

Aubree has been one of my consistent commenters, and perhaps even one of my first commenters!  Aubree leaves great comments on everyone’s blogs and always loves to have a chat on twitter.  Needless to say, I have a special place in my heart for her.

Aubree was one of the first people to make me feel like a real blogger! Back in February she tried my gluten-free and dairy-free caramel recipe and blogged about it! It was really cool to see She Let Them Eat Cake on someone else’s blog.

Aubree has a feature on her blog called Top Ten Tuesday. She highlights 10 recipes she’s seen throughout the week that she likes – her faves! I love this idea – it’s one of those ideas that you wish you’d thought of first!

Basically Aubree is creating an e-cookbook for herself. Now she has a great list of recipes she can refer to when she has time to play in the kitchen. I love it!

You don’t know how many times I see a recipe and wish I could try it. It’s so hard to try someone else’s recipes when you have your own food blog. You really want to work on new recipes for your own blog and therefore have little time to try other people’s recipes. Know what I mean?

Check out Aubree’s lists and take some time to peruse her blog. She has a lot of amazing tips and recipes that I know you’ll want to put on your “Must-Try” list.

And did I mention that Aubree has another blog? She is in love with all things horticulture. You can check out her other blog Horticulture By Heart.

So how do you keep track of the recipes that you find online?

*jaw drops*

Maggie WOW!!! I can’t believe it, I’m so flattered! I’m sort of embarrassed to say I even teared up a little bit (the mention of the horticulture blog was the tip of the iceberg – most people have no idea about that blog! :))

Although I would love to say that I work on my blog so to make money, that’d be a lie (never seen a scent from it…). I really do it for a chance to learn more about food and cooking, but also to have a network of people that I can relate to. That’s the best part! And this post makes me feel like I really am a part of the gluten free/healthy cooking community 🙂

Thank you thank you THANK YOU!!! 😀

Hey Aubree – You are soooo welcome! I just feel lucky to be connected to someone like you – you’re so positive! You’re right, we have such a great community and it makes blogging and living gluten-free so much better.

Oops… cent*. I guess it’s true that I can’t literally smell my blog either though… Ah, typo’s 😛

Aubree Cherie is one of my favorite bloggers too. And I love reading her Friday Finds for the chance to find a new recipe or blogger!

I love Aubree’s blog and love the top ten idea! I may actually start this for my main site Go Dairy Free. I had been thinking about highlighting recipes.

Anywho, right now I am really bad at it. I have a folder I put recipes I want to try into but it barely ever gets looked at. I definitely need a better format! I may try what Aubree is doing.

Hey Alisa – I tried the folder thing too. Now it’s just something else in another pile 🙂 Right now I bookmark but then I forget to go back and look at my bookmarks. Maybe we need to start a weekly top ten list for all of our blogs! We could call it the Aubree-Inspired Top Ten. What do you think?

Maggie, I couldn’t agree with you more on Aubree! She’s a pure delight in every sense of the word. 🙂 I love interacting with her at her blog (still need to check out her horticulture one), my blog, Twitter, etc. Love her always creative and delicious recipes, too. Even before her Top 10, she was awesome, but her Top 10 is brilliant! 😉

Just one more thing that we agree on Shirley!
