Confessions of a Dangerous Mind

by Maggie on December 3, 2009

My life seems to be going a little bit crazy this week!!

First of all, I think it’s so cool that people are reading this blog.  Some of you have let me know via facebook, via twitter, or via a wonderful comment on this blog (and gasp, some have even told me in face-to-face contact, yes, we still exist in real time).  Thank you so much for sharing and reading.

Every day I think to myself, “Maggie, maybe you should just throw in the towel and walk away before someone gets hurt.”  But seriously, I do wonder just what I’ve gotten myself into.  Blogging is so much fun, but most of the time I’m just writing and baking and taking pictures.  By myself, for myself (at least it seems that way).  It gets lonely.  I’m a teacher by trade so I am quite used to being surrounded by people -and people who let me know exactly how they feel about me.

But, readers…  I am having fun!  I am getting the hang of twitter (celebrating 100 followers this weekend).  I am communicating with fellow bloggers who live God knows where (a little blogger-to-blogger baking challenge is in the works).  I am baking up a storm (just ask Pete who is feeling a little sensitive about his baked goods belly).  And I am learning so much (figured out how to use Flickr this week – did you see the lovely photos of black beans and fluffy flours?).

I’ve even started working on a little business venture – which I will share in full detail, once everything pans out.  So I officially feel like a “mompreneur”.  I’m starting to like it.  Moms are cool.  Moms look out for each other.

Anyway, those are my ramblings for tonight.  Gotta run and work on my Friday Finds column.  I have something really new and exciting in the works.  I’m branching out big time for this one!  Oh, and Ringo really really wants to go for a walk (the dog, not the drummer).

I made vegan bran muffins the other night- not gluten free but low fat and ….wait for it….incredibly delicious! Just know, you are not baking alone!

Hello!! A very good friend directed my to this site some time ago…must be ages now. Anyway, with 3 kids, a few too many colds and not nearly enough sleep (the youngest is 4 months!) it seems I didn’t get there. But I always have had great referrals from this friend as she directed me to the most amazing sites for the most amazing products–so this morning I had to find out where she’d sent me this time. Well let me just say this has been THE BEST yet!! Wow how great a site is this?!! I’m inspired to start baking but my true wish is to have this wonderful maggie next store…could you imagine if she was a neighbour…just stopping in to drop off some of those amazing cookies?! If only we could all be so lucky! Until then I’ll be reading (and hopefully baking) with “sheletthmeeatcake”!! This is wonderful Maggie! Love it! Krista
