This week I have to tell you about a great site that I’ve found thanks to the almighty Twitter. It’s called the Yummy Mummy Club (YMC).
Sorry for going on and on lately about Twitter , but it’s just such an important part of my life these days. If you can believe it, some days I communicate with @petesavage , I mean Pete, more on Twitter than I do in person. I kid.
A whole new world has opened up to me since being on Twitter. For instance, YMC mommies are all over Twitter and they keep me up to date on all things yummy mummy; so this is how I found out about their amazing website.
The founder of YMC is none other than Erica Ehm. Yes, THE Erica Ehm. I know most of you will remember her from Much Music in the 80’s and 90’s. The one we all looked up to, the one we all wanted to be, and the one we tuned in to for all of our pop culture needs. Well now we can tune in to her again on her funny and informative site YMC .
I could easily spend hours surfing around their site, they have so much to offer. There are the regular mummies who blog about all things mom. And trust me, it’s not all about being the perfect mom. It’s about being a real mom, in this real world! That’s what I like about it. Sometimes you’ll find things on there that totally go against the mommy-norm. But it’s real.
YMC is more than happy to help and promote other moms too. Got a great event coming up? They’ll promote it for you. Got a blog? They’ll link to it.
There’s also tips for everything on there. It’s kind of like a convenience store for moms. Your one-stop place for everything you could possibly need. Shopping ideas. Contests. Book suggestions. It’s truly incredible.
I wanted to share YMC with you because I think it’s so exciting. In the past few months I’ve learned a lot about what other women are doing as they parent their babes. And it makes me so proud to be a mom and a woman. I know, cheesy. But true. Check it out for yourself.
My only complaint about the YMC is why didn’t I know about this sooner? I’m a bit of a internet surfer. I feel like I should’ve known. Maybe I wasn’t looking in the right place, or maybe they need to be promoting in other places.
Check out the site when you get a chance. It’s full of many funny articles and blogs written by yep, you guessed it, yummy mummies. And even a few good dads have made it onto their regular rotation.
Oh I can’t believe I almost forgot to mention this bit…they recently posted a link to She Let Them Eat Cake, my blog (scroll down, it’s alphabetical). Okay, I admit, I had to sign up (and it’s free). But hey, I’m on there. My YMC dream is to one day have an article up there. And you can bet your yummy butt that I’ll be tweeting about today’s Friday Finds!
